Why are 341 Castleland Master Plan submissions hidden from public view?

Why are 341 public submissions that the people and organisations from Balbriggan and surrounding areas made hidden from public view? There are currently 167 closed public submissions on view on Fingals Public Consultation website. From the Draft Castlelands Consultation which closed August 2018 all submission are unavailable.

The public can view all the submissions on any of these consultations. However the Castleland Draft Master Plan now closed has no option to view those 341 submissions a vast bank of information and data that people could be using to formulate an opinion on the current Master Plan. These submissions should be public.

Click here to see the now closed Draft Castlelands Master Plan and the unviewable content.

Closed Tues 28th August 2018.

I wrote to Fingal County Council in September 2018 and asked why these submissions were not visible and below is the response I received

"Dear Niall

I refer to your enquiries with respect to the Castlelands , Balbriggan Masterplan .

The submissions are not visible online at this time

However a report is under preparation on foot of the submissions received and this report will contain a report on the submission details in due course.

Unfortunately I am not in a position to provide further information or update at this time"

Publish all previous submissions now

We urgently need to have these 343 submissions published and I would call on everyone to email devplan@fingal.ie and ask for these submissions to be published urgently and for an extension to the submission deadline to allow people study the contents.

Many Balbriggan residents have many questions and concerns regarding the Castleland Master Plan. In recent weeks myself and Darragh O'Brien TD have met several residents associations and groups.

Last Thursday evening Ardgillan Residents held a meeting in Balbriggan Golf club. I was at this meeting along with over 150 residents. Speaking at the event Kevin Tolan spoke about means to have the plan scraped and at the very least suspended. He will post links and tips on both Balbriggan.info and Balbriggan.Net over the coming days.

The previous week myself and Darragh O'Brien TD met with the Pinewood Residents Association.

Today Balbriggan Community Council and Kevin Smyth held a very useful workshop on making submissions and how to properly engage with the process

There is a public information evening in Castlelands Community Centre on Tuesday 21st May from 4pm to 8pm and I would call on everyone to attend.

Currently Fingal County Council are seeking public submissions on the plan to do this click this link for information and ways to make your submission
